"Our City shines brightest, when the stage is lit, the curtains open and the seats are filled at this magnificent theatre. The economic and cultural impact the Opera House provides to the City of Rochester is truly priceless. I would like to challenge individuals, businesses and corporations to consider a generous donation to ensure that our children and grandchildren may experience the beauty and enjoyment of an Opera House performance. Please join me as we work together to preserve our historic theatre for generations to come!
The Rochester Opera House is fortunate to have a strong partnership with the City of Rochester, an ever-growing base of patrons and a group of solid sponsors. But, as a not-for-profit organization, fundraising efforts, broadening sponsorship and donations are crucial to sustain operations, to expand programs and to support the “pulsating center of the community.”

"The Rochester Opera House is truly a gem for the Seacoast region and the State of New Hampshire. It is one of the more impressive municipal theaters to survive in the 21st century. The fact that the majority of this quality work [restoration] was accomplished through volunteers makes the restoration an impressive statement for this project and for the people of Rochester. The space, both majestic and intimate, brings the idea of theater as an “event” to modern audiences. Throughout New Hampshire, New England and the United States, arts and culture institutions like the Opera House are the foundation stones that help build up and maintain healthy downtowns."

All Shook Up is shakin' up the winter doldrums at the Rochester Opera House. It's a fast-paced production, featuring strong vocals. The score includes classics such as Jailhouse Rock, Heartbreak Hotel, Can't Help Falling In Love and others made popular by the King; some toe-tappers, others, thanks to a truly wonderful collection of voices, follicle raising. This entertaining production has a number of things going for it; the lodestone is seriously fine direction by Steve Small.

Just wanted to write a quick note and let you all know what a fabulous show we saw today, and how much talent was up on that stage in The Wizard of Oz! The show was seamless, the sound system was perfect, and we enjoyed every minute of it! Thanks for your great work!
There is NO facet of this production [Shrek The Musical] that isn't absolute perfection - from the music, to the costumes, to the set, to the performances. I wish I'd seen it last weekend so I could've seen it twice. HUGE kudos to everyone involved - I was totally enchanted!
Having done musical theater professionally for most of my life, I have great respect for the work that goes into these shows. The ROH production [Shrek the Musical] is amazing. It has heart, the performers and crew are clearly invested in it and talented, the ensemble scenes in particular are stronger than almost any I have seen. The audience, many of whom also do theater professionally, was astounded. People could not stop talking about how they'd never been there before and now they would come to as many shows as possible. These are some pretty critical theater folks saying this stuff.
We always go over to the Opera House for their wonderful productions! It's one of my favorite places to go to. I feel like the Opera House is the most important structure in Rochester. Everyone always works so hard! They put on the best shows. Dreams come true there. People from all over come to perform or watch. I love the Opera House.

I can't thank you enough for all your help with today's show [We The People]. So many of the parents/teachers told me how much they loved the show! I called the company [Theatreworks USA] to see if they could get us a CD or DVD of the show. I love when an education show like this really excites our children for the love of learning! I look forward to seeing you again for future shows. Thank you again.
Sincerely, Carol Petrusewicz
I grew up in Somersworth and have been living in Florida for 20 years. I've known very little about the Rochester Opera House. Our family, including my 91 year-old father, had the distinct pleasure on January 3, 2015, to attend the afternoon performance of GODSPELL. We were all most impressed both by the wonderful performance and by the Rochester Opera House itself. Kudos to the actors/singers, staff, and all who volunteer their time and effort to make it possible. The Rochester Opera House is a true gem, and it's the people who make it possible. Let's hope it is able to continue for many years to come.
This morning was another brilliant performance in the A&E Series..."A Christmas Carol." Thank you so very much!

Thank you so much for the wonderful production of Charlotte's Web! Our classes truly enjoyed the play. Thank you for continuing local theater of such high standards.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in today's production of Macbeth. Please send along my deepest appreciation to the cast and crew for their work today. I felt that the Macbeth and Lady Macbeth interaction captured the essence of their relationship... stormy, manipulative, seductive, and euphoric.
Once again, I am writing to say thank you for such a wonderful evening with LeAnn Rimes. My son bought the tickets for my birthday and we got to spend a special evening together. Happy Holidays to all of you who work so hard to bring us wonderful entertainment all year long.
