Daisy’s Big Parade Release Party featuring PJ Donahue

Come celebrate the launch of local musician PJ Donahue’s new concept album, Daisy’s Big Parade at ‘70s Fourth of July-themed release parties. These all-ages celebrations will be held on March 14 & 15, starting at 6:30 pm, at the Rochester Performance and Arts Center, 30 N Main Street, Rochester, NH. Attendees are encouraged to dress in 70’s attire, as the album takes place over one day – July 4, 1978.

Daisy’s Big Parade is about the internal struggle between being who you are and who the world tells you to be. Through this very personal album, PJ, a recovering alcoholic, took himself down the other path – the recklessness and burnout that he would have likely faced if he’d continued drinking. The album’s two main characters, Daisy and Anna Lee, are two sides of the same person. Daisy, a reckless addict, seeks fame, fortune, and attention. She wants the world to adore her, and wants her big parade. Anna Lee, on the other hand, is a scared little girl that represents Daisy’s true self, which she tries desperately to hide from the world. The album concludes by showing that the parade, no matter how big, has to end eventually. Its release coincides with PJ’s 10-year sobriety anniversary.
