Free Comic Book Day 2026

Free Comic Book Day will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026 across both the region and the country, offering free comics to visitors of comic shops that participate. The event in downtown Rochester, started by Ralph DiBernardo at Jetpack Comics & Games, has blossomed into a citywide event – featuring multiple comic locations, discounts at businesses, a costume contest, Artist Alley at the Rochester Opera House, and The Turtle Den at the Governor’s Inn.

As an annual event that attracts thousands of visitors, and an economic driver for downtown businesses each spring, downtown business and local artists are invited to participate.
